'New' is the prodigal son story of Isaiah as told by Penny who along with her best friends, Nattie, Emmie, and Jess spend their summer working at a Creative Arts Center. Together, they participate in an event called the 'Art in Park' festival, created so children could experience the joy of the arts.
The summer is not without it's challenges though. The girls are attempting to win an internet based regional dance contest. Isaiah, who is Emmie's adopted brother, is being tempted by a top entertainment talent scout to compromise his beliefs and leave his family and the kids who look up to him, for a life of fame and fortune. Thomas is having a hard time convincing his older brother, Jefferson, to help him and his best friend, Jacey, with a secret junk art project. When Nattie's brother, Thad, hears about cheating in the little league, he's faced with the decision to make a stand or do what is best for the kids he coaches.
And we can't forget about Judah! He's Penny's dog and is a big Goldendoodle full of energy... with a very mischievous side.
'New' is full of dancing, art, music, drama, comedy, and more! It is meant to encourage kids and families to go after their God given creativity and to revolutionize the world around them by being all that God has created them to be.
