We are honored to have a group of talented and award-winning actors, directors. filmmakers and writers to present an intensive, real-world, independent filmmaking workshop for aspiring and emerging filmmakers. In this workshop, the guest presenters will cover the art, processes and business of making independent movies amd web series. You will learn developing the concept, preparing for the production, shooting, cutting (editing) the film, screening and distribution.

Renee Hill-Sweet - Directors Guild of America - Renee is a second assistant director with over 13 years of professional experience. Her work includes the movies KILLING WINSTON JONES, HOME RUN, LAKEVIEW TERRACE, YES MAN, THIS CHRISTMAS, NORBIT, DREAMGIRLS, CRANK. Renee’s TV work includes SINGLE LADIES, THE PAUL REISER SHOW, CLOSE TO HOME, SUMMERLAND, THE PRACTICE, and THE BERNIE MAC SHOW.

Yolonda Ross - Award-Winning Actor - Yolonda Ross made her feature film debut as the lead in the critically acclaimed HBO feature STRANGER INSIDE, directed by Cheryl Dunye.  The film premiered at the 2001 Sundance Film Festival and won the Audience Award at Outfest, the San Francisco Film Festival and the Philadelphia Film Festival. Ross’ performance earned her an IFP Gotham Award, an Independent Spirit Award Nomination, Outfest Screen Idol Nomination and Variety named her one of its “10 Actors to Watch.”  A dedicated member of the Labyrinth Theater Company, Ross has a vast portfolio of work which includes films like SHORTBUS, I'M NOT THERE, YELLING TO THE SKY, CHOKE, and HBO’s PHIL SPECTOR.  After recently wrapping a season on TREME, Ross can be seen in the upcoming John Sayles film, GO FOR SISTERS, Joshua Sanchez film FOUR and in her own directorial debut short film, BREAKING NIGHT.

Redelia Shaw - Directors Guild of America - Redelia is a second assistant director. Her TV work includes SCANDAL, HOUSE OF LIES, BODY OF PROOF, FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS, PRETTY LITTLE LIES, BROTHERS AND SISTERS, RULES OF ENGAGEMENT, THE WHOLE TRUTH, RAISING THE BAR, HEROES, and THE OFFICE.

Stanislav Shkilnyi - Film/Television Insurance Agent - Working for the BARROW GROUP, LLC., Stan is a nationwide film insurance specialist. The Barrow Group provides completion bonds, production packages, errors & omissions, and workers' compensation for film and television projects.

Craig T. Williams - Award-Winning Producer/Writer - As CEO of Red Wall Productions, Craig has produced over 30 film projects including independent short films, promotional videos, educational films, actor reels and the ground breaking documentary Black Sorority Project. He raised and managed the necessary capital to produce all of Red Walls endeavors, bringing in all projects on time and within budget.

Writer of over 20 short films, including the award winning short films Allergic To Nuts and Drawing Angel, Craig’s feature screenplays include: Cabbie Couture, Cape of Good Hope (just optioned), Soft Place to Fall (2nd Place Winner 2011, Hollywood Black Film Festival, 3rd Place Winner Organization of Black Screenwriters Screenplay Contest), Jimmie and Game Night.

Restrictions

We use a rating system on all of our films. Children under the age of 13 are not allowed in films rate PG-13 or R. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children under 16 are not allowed in workshops. The Youth Screening Series on Saturday is open to all youth.
